Received a call saying they were the IRS i purposely did'nt pay enough  taxes for about 4 yrs. anyway we talk wanted my cell i don't give my cell number but if they were the IRS they should have it. I just hung up my phone and blocked the number. This was a real person not a robot.

They called my elderly parents and told them they were being sued by the IRS.... These people have no conscience!! I called the number back & could tell it was a scam. The number was 347-349-4964 ..... What a bunch of low life scammers! .... Who can put a stop to these guys. They belong in prison!!!

Not answering unknown numbers in any way is one way. What good is a scammer without a participant? When you're relying on participation from another person to cheat and steal from, why have any regards for time, day, or age? They take what they can get, sad to say. Luckily, we have sites like these that serve you notice, however, it's unfortunate the elderly may not have the resources or knowledge to save themselves. Being smart in these situations is a great defense.

They said they were the IRS and that I had unpaid taxes and that they were going to bring me to court if I didn't pay $3,000 in back taxes from 2009 - 2013.  They wanted me to send it via moneygram.  If it were the IRS they would contact me by mail.  This is a scam and should be stopped immediately.
