In case you know nothing about modern technology it is called an automatic dialer and until you are decent and actually talk to this person like a human and ask that your number be taken out of they system it will keep dialing you. You can also act like a civilized adult and ask what company they are calling on behalf of and then call that company to let them know that the person they are looking for does not have your phone number anymore. Wow imagine that being a civilized adult in 2011.

it isn't that simple!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I have been back and forth with this company for ages.  I don't owe them a dime and have never heard of who they are calling for.  I have told them that numerous times.  They say they will take my number out of their system but NEVER do.  This is standard practice for these vultures.  I even got some consultation from a lawyer who told me exactly what to say but still NO result from the [***].

It doesn't work no matter how polite you are.

Caller named Brian Frost called today asking to speak with my father. My husband took the call and asked to take a message. The caller gave him a call back number with an 877 area code. When my husband inqured what it was about the caller informed him that he was governed by the laws of the Federal Trade Comminsion not to disclose the information. The caller than referred to my husband by his name and asked if he would give the message to my dad. He said "I strongly suggest you give him the message" to that threat my husband told the caller he "was shaking in his boots". Mr. Frost ended the conversation by saying he will find another way to get in touch with my father.I *69 and got this number. What's up?

Your father apparently barrowed some money to get a car, a bank loan or other FDIC regulated money and then defaulted on that loan. This is why he was called. The company contracted this number to collect or make arrangements to collect this debt. I dout there was any threatening going on as I have delt with this company and never had a problem with them. Call back, speak nicely and they will tell you what the reason is they are calling.
