My call was from Mike at the Microsoft Service Center.  Call was made from 832-426-2008.  Same story as everyone else.  Same call back number.  He told me that there was a problem with my virus software, so I asked him what virus software I had on my computer.  After two wrong guesses, he gave up and hung up on me.  Strong Indian accent as well.  My advice is to keep this clown on the phone for as long as you can.  Waste his time and he'll get you off his list.  I'd say pretend you are following his instructions.  Act like something is wrong with the computer and its taking a long time to boot.  Tell him your kids have been playing with the computer and the keyboard isn't attached.  Ask him to give you a minute to get everything hooked up.  On and ON etc  Just as it boots tell him somethings burning on the stove and you'll be right back.  If he's dumb enough to stay on for long, tell him to look out the window, homeland security should be driving up any second.

I got a call from a unlisted number, couldn't understand them, however I knew they weren't from Microsoft, they had
an Indian accent...I said if you are who you say you are what is your number they gave the 201-285-2011...they wanted me to type in [eventrwr ] in my run box so I could see with my own eyes, they said, the virus in my computer.... I told them to hold on and that is when I did a search of their number and found out they weren't who they said they were.  They sound convincing at first because my computer is running a little slow, it's the the gold package with Cox so to be expected...lol. Hope others will not fall for this fraud.
How can we get them to stop, anyone got any ideas?

5/23/2015 and the scam is still going on. Todays call was from Sam and his return phone number is 201-285-2011 but the cell number shows 999998. Same old crap just a new name.

adam called and said I had a 540.00 credit coming because I used them last year and they are returning that amount because they were going out of business and could not finish the work. stupid me said ok and gave him my
credit card number for the credit.  I have not got a charge yet but I am sure I just got ripped off.

I would say call your CC holder ASAP and tell them so they can cancel it and send you a new one.. yes, the rebate thing is also a scam on the microsoft tech calls.  Article on this below:
