Hey you guys.  I got a call from a Marcus whatever that he 'wished me the best of luck' concerning the legal matter pending against me.  He also called every contact I had with this same bogus message.  

I paid. $335.00.

Later that same night I watched Dateline NBC about the collectors being illegal in their tactics. The ones they pulled with me are also illegal.  I took notes on how to report them to the State Attorney for my state and to the Debt Collectors Trade Commission(or whichever their national thing is called). So I'm going to report them.

This morning my friend text'd me about how we are not supposed to give there people our banking information.  She saw it on Clark Howard on CNN. This is a video of that segment aired today Saturday March 39, 2009:

Also! They never told me what type of business they are in.  I heard a ton of people as if they were in a call-center.  Further I should have asked 'what stage are you at in this legal matter'.  And what lawyer says I need to get your statement.  They don't even know the legal language. Do not let them scare you - they are [***].

Also, they called me one day before this message.  This was the first message ever left.  

Arizona is a no-prosecution state.  You cannot be prosecuted for a payday loan.  Police are NOT in the business of debt collection.  They will NOT come pick you up.  These people are idiots who are so lazy as to not research the legal language needed.  Their tone is unprofessional and they are completely ambiguous in their dialogue.  Report report report.

Take these people out at the knees.

Jim King called me @ work today, stating I owe $251.62 for a pay day loan that I took out in Swptember. This is listed as a class 1 check and is very serious in VA. If I don't pay today, he will release the file for further action to be taken. When I asked him exactly what would happen, he told me he can't tell me because it would seem as though he is trying to intimidate me and I am an intelligent woman I could figure it out. I explained to him that I only have $10, I could pay on Thursday when I get paid, he said no I have to pay today, the company has been waiting since September. I asked him if they have been waiting since September, why can't they wait two more days. I also told him that I called the company and didn't get an answer, I also drove by the office (which is down the street from my job) & the office has been closed down. He said he doesn't know about that, it may be just one of their offices that is closed. I asked him to give me the corporate phone # for the payday loan company, he said he can't do that because they hired him & they will not speak to me. I told him if they want the money they will speak to me. I just can't pay it today. He told me to borrow it from my boss or whoever. He said he would hold it until 2pm today & for me to call him back at 866-567-4734 ext. 294. If I don't pay today, I will be taken care of at work or at home, but most likely at work so I should pay to avoid the embarrassment. He told me good luck & hung up. I am glad I googled this company. He had me stressed wondering what was going to happen.

Ashley Vonn calls me and wants to speak to some other person. She asks if I know this person and I answered "Yes, I do know this person." She then proceeds to ask me to take her name and telephone number down so I could call this person and have this person call her back. When I refused she hung up. First and foremost, I am not a messager for a debt collector or anyone else for that matter. I told her she should contact that person. Vonn stated she did not have a telephone number. urmph

I RECIEVED A CALL FROM (904)672-1023 STATING THAT I WOULD BE ARRESTED IF I DID NOT SEND A PAYMENT BY 2PM ON 3/26/09 SO I WAS AFRAID AND I SENT 217.87 MONEYGRAM HER NAME WAS LAURA HUNTER. BUT I GOT TO THINKING AFTER I DID THIS BECAUSE OF SOME OF THE THINGS SHE SAID TO ME ON THE PHONE, LIKE SKIP MY MORTAGE TO MAKE THIS PAYMENT. I'M SUPPOSE TO MAKE A PAYMENT TODAY IN THE AMOUNT OF 387.00 THEY KEEP CALLING MY HOUSE SHE WANTED ME TO MAKE PAYMENT BY NOON.
