I just received a phone call from a female automated caller saying the irs is suing me and that I need to call this phone number (903) 326-9521. I know that this is a scam and I will not fall for it, but I do worry about senior citizens falling prey to these scams!!

This was definitely a scam.  I lectured him on why the IRS never sent a written notice about this, as they are very good at doing so. I also said that he included tax year 2015, and that it sounded like a scam, because all he was doing was telling me I owe money, there was no official notice, he won't breakdown the years and numbers, and is just telling me to pay now.  He finally admitted it was a scam and hung up.  Victory!

Same as everyone. Got a pre-recorded message that IRS filling lawsuit against me. No reason for them to do so and no written notice from them. Scam!
