Known scammer

This number called my DNC listed landline today at 2002 hours.  I didn't bother answering because the only people who call me on my landline are scam artists.  I can see that my instinct was correct.  If it's an actual charity, it's one of those ones you should steer far away from.  They pocket all or nearly all of the money.  It's just a scam disguised as a charity.

If you call the number back (after wisely blocking your caller info, of course) you get a recording thanking you for calling the "Women's Cancer Fund Inquiry Line."  Yeah, that's not at all suspiciously vague.  It gives you options to get more information (1), have your number removed from their list (2) (and if you believe they'll honor that request, I have a great bridge to sell you), make a donation (3), or to check on the status of a donation (4). For the heck of it, I pressed 0.  The recording started again.  And again and again and again.  Every time I pressed 0 it would start right at the beginning, so I had a bit of fun tying up one of their lines with a throw-back to the eighties skipping a record.  Finally I pressed 4, to check on the status of my nonexistent donation.  A message told me that it would take 4 - 10 business days, I think it was, before they pocketed people's money instead of actually using it for what they're supposed to be soliciting for.  (My interpretation, yes.)  After that message, I was given the option to leave a message.  So I did.  Short, sweet, and spicy.  What I told them is not fit to repeat here.  I have a sneaking suspicion that it's like the "Children's Cancer" thing and the "Breast Cancer Fund."  You know.  Those ones that are well-known scams.  I suspect they needed a new name once the gig was up on their other fake charities.

Get this call most every day, along with a myriad of others.  Sux.

They keep calling. Very irritating!! Believe it's a scam!!
