Yep, same thing happened to me. I told him if he was going to record the conversation for quality control, so was I. He said “You can’t, it’s Pennsylvania law”. I said “I can with your consent, and if you record it, I’m recording it”. He got so mad. He started telling me I didn’t know the law. Then the Knuckle Head began to try insults. I gave him a little gerbil voodoo and hung up. I filed a police report and called back the number. The same guy answered and I explained the police report and that Comcast was notified to log the call for potential criminal proceedings. By the way, did I mention I’m not the person he was looking for? Nor have I ever heard of the guy. I did state this numerous times at the beginning of our first conversation, but he didn’t want to hear it. Guess the guy gets off on harassing people. I’m sure it’s a result of something a crazy uncle did to him during a baby sit. As it turns out, if you don’t owe them money, just tell them, “It’s not me and that person doesn’t live here and please quit calling”. Upon my return call to tell the ignorant underachiever, I reiterated, “That’s not me and do not call here anymore”. He sounded kind of spooked and apologized and said it wouldn’t happen again. The reason I’m posting this is I just moved into a new house 10 months ago. Apparently the poor [***] that had my phone number before I opened this new account didn’t pay his bills. Now I’m paying for it every week with a new call from a bill collector with an inaccurate phone number.
