There is a fairly common IRS or "tax scam" being practiced by scammers on both Canadian and USA residents.
USA tax payers should read this:
http://www.irs.gov/uac/Newsroom/IRS-Reiterate ... -Telephone-Scam
Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.

Ditto the above comments. Speaker has a foreign accent, or is using a computerized voice synthesizer. Sounds broken, and emphasizes the wrong syllables sometimes. Obvious scam, but have received two calls already today!!! We ARE on the do not call list! Will be filing a complaint with law enforcement as well!

SCAM!!! Digitized voice, accent from India, claiming to be Eric Forrester, an IRS agent - threatening problems if call not returned. Seriously, Attorney General should shut this guy down

Received this same message twice today! Not sure who to report it to. Hope someone knows how to get the "threatening" calls stopped and this guy in jail for impersonating the IRS and harassing people.

Hi - I received 2 calls today from this number - Officer Eric Forester and when you call the number it is answered by Offifcer Kyle Cooper (sounds like same person). I have reported to my Kentucky atorney and also to our local police department.
This is very scary and I feel for those who fall for the scam.
