Fact 2)  Debt collectors have a proven history refusing to accept they have reached the wrong number.

You're right "Nonya". It is simple. These calls are coming from an outfit called NRG. We've all heard of those Weasels before. The calls are coming from a 716 area code. The area code that belongs to the birth place of more domestic SCAMMERS than any other area code in the US. There's a glaring clue that somethings not exactly legitimate, wouldn't you say so "Nonya"?
No one should even consider calling this blustering FRAUD named "Jackman" back. In fact, the only thing a reasonably sane person should do is BLOCK this number. If a debt collector has a valid claim to a debt he MAILS proof of it. If a bad check is involved you DO NOT hear about it from some moron on the 'phone. NOT EVER!
Now go back to your 'phone "Nonya". You're not up to trying to Shill on this site. You're not up to Scamming either, but what else can you do? It's not like you have a lot of options do you?

This BJ sounded like a big shot with a bigger matter to talk to me 'right away' lodged against my name and social security.  It doesn't sound legit even with a lawyerly tone.  I'll block this number!

This guy was calling my mother on her cell phone asking for me, threatening to send an officer etc. She doesn't even live in the same state!  I called him back and advised the guy I have an attorney and am in bankruptcy but that I dispute any debt he alleges. Big surprise, I never heard from him again, and he never contacted my attorney. He may be a legit collector but his methods are illegal and I hope no one is intimidated enough to pay this sleaze a dime.
