Another unwanted call from this Fullerton landline arrived today, just 5 days after the previous unwanted call on July 30.  When the call rolled to voice mail, the caller left no message.  According both to Sophia and Concerned Citizen (see above), this is a fake police charity trolling for donations.  If this was really the LAPD, why would the call be from Fullerton, instead of L.A.?

Fake cops, fake charity.  Hang up on these scam artists!

called, left no msg.  I added them to me att block number list.

Man called and said the call would be recorded.  Said he represented some sort of charity wanting money for injured law enforcement individuals and could they rely on a contribution.  I asked where he was calling from and he said New Jersey, but they are a national organization.  His call came from the above listed number with the Southern California area code.  He could not explain being in another state but was able to call me using  the California telephone number.  He transferred me to a supervisor (female) who also said she was in New Jersey and had no explanation for how the number they used to call came from California.  She gave me toll free number 1-866-686-9523 to talk with someone who might be able to answer the telephone number question.

After hanging up I called 714-930-1382 and got a recording saying my call was important and hang on for the next available agent... After a few minutes a recording said "good by"

A female did answer 1-866-686-1382, but I disconnected when she answered.
