They called my offfice line, no message, just random static, not even a fax tone. Looked up the number, and it claims to be a computer repair service. Called them back, a young woman answered, confirming that it is the repair service, but said they had called my number to follow up on an application for a student loan that "someone at your number applied for."

Renting out their phone line for a scam, prhaps?

Student loan, huh?  Could this be another number used by those bas**rds at ECMC?

Some stupid Indian guy wanted to give me a free security system.  I asked how he got my number and he hung up.  If you really want to make these guys mad stay on the phone with them for as long as possible then ask them how they like having their time wasted.
