Hanging up on them does no good.  Unless you stayed on the line and gave the correct answers, you didn't even talk to a human.  Go to Facebook and look up "Stop Tom With Home Security".  Tom was the first name these scammers used, they go by other names, and other industries, but home security is the most common.  Blocking the call and signing up for the DNC list does no good in this case, they are in flagrant disregard of these laws.  Tell them you are interested in home security and that you do own your home.  Get a live person on the line.  Try to get a REAL persons name and phone number.  This is the ONLY  way these calls will stop.  Then report them on places like the Facebook site, try the FTC, whomever will listen.

Received call, do not answer calls from unknown out-state numbers - no message left.  Very irritating and waste of time.

I answered the call. They said they were with Homeland Security. I hung up saying I wasn't interested. Then I googled Homeland security... My son is in the Milatary and it scared the death out of me! So I called the number back and realized it was a solicitor after all!

I received a call at approx 5:40 EDT today.  I didn't answer it.  No message was left.

They call I usually never answer because no message on my answering machine when they do . Red flag goes up SCAM. My caller ID says Uknown Name, second red flag goes up, yea a SCAM. This time I answered anyway and he was nice how are you today? He was selling Security Systems, why would I buy a security system from Mass. when I live in TN? Anyway I said I wasn't interested and I have a Security System he immediiate hung up. This is definiately a scam it's better to hang up or better yet don't answer, and never give out any kind of information about yourself, bank numbers, credit card etc to anyone you don't know.
