Stop calling me

Just received a new telephone and new number and the first day received a call from Direct Energy.  I never heard of the company.  I also received calls from the company the next couple of days.  When the call is answered no one responds.  I told my wife that someone who had the number before probably didn't pay their bill and they are sending harassing calls.  The last time Direct Energy called, I called back and received a recorded song, "fly me to the moon."  The following day I searched the company name and number on Google and realized that it is some sort of company scam.

There is no such thing as a new number.  Your new number is someone else's old number.  Your call was aiming for the person who had the number before you got it.

609 662 5293 never ending phone calls all day long!!!!  No one answers.  No reverse contact possible.  They call as late as 8pm and as early as 8am.  IMPOSSIBLE TO STOP.  
IT SHOULD BE ILLEGAL TO HARRASS HOMEOWNERS LIKE THIS!!!!!!  IF SOMEONE WERE RINGING YOUR DOOR BELL NON STOP YOU COULD HAVE THEM ARRESTED.  WHY IS IT THAT THIS NON STOP CALLING IS PERMITTED?
