What a scam! These guys just try to intimidate people into paying them. I don't think there's any validity to anything they say.

This is a good lesson to NEVER trust what you hear from someone on the phone like and why you should NEVER give any personal information to anyone over the phone unless you are sure of who they are and who they work for.

It really angers me that these people aren't in jail. Why are our laws in this country so messed up? Why is it OK to harrass people and to try and steal their money like these clowns do?

I got a call from this number last night about a debt from 1998. They claimed I owed close to $3,000. When I asked what the debt was for they said they were not sure that the name was abbreviated and they couldn't understand it. They said they could settle the debt for $1,500 taking $750 now and $750 in a few days, but they wanted my credt card information. I told them I didn't know what they were talking about and I couldn't afford to make any payments for anything and they asked if I could get the money from my family. I told them no I could not and haven't talked to them since. They keep calling but I just don't answer the phone. The only number they call is my cell number and I don't know how they got it because I didn't have that number 11 years ago. If they keep calling I am going to send them a SOL letter and hope they leave me alone.

I have a four year old debt going on five.  At this point I am still unable to pay off my debt.  My original creditor was Chase (now JP Morgan), who sold it to UNIFUND, who in turn sold it to Account Portfolio Management, LLC, represented by Mr. Laurence A. Hecker, Attorney at Law. I would have hoped to settle this with Chase but apparently, they found it to be more cost effective to sell the debt to a 3rd party then to engage in legal proceedings. It seems my account is still active at Account Portfolio Mgmt since I am still actively receiving calls with complementary debt.

I don't blame Mr.Hecker and his establishment for what they do; they are in the debt collection business.  Debt is debt, and this debt is no different; I just wish they wouldn't stress me out.  Hopefully, the economy will turn around; meanwhile, I will have to juggle between stall tactics and on negotiating a fair settlement for myself and Acct. Port. Mgmt.

Thanks for reading (Almost feels like a confession).
