Check your states Statute of Limitations, it is usually 4 or 5 years. If you are passed it, the money is not legally collectible. Even if they took you to court (they wont), it would be thrown out because of expired SOL.  Do not ever pay them a penny, do not return their calls or ever speak to them.

Some guy identifying himself as "John Brown" called trying to collect on a fourteen-year-old debt owed by someone with my name but a different middle initial. I thought it was funny and joked with him, but he kept claiming I was the guy who owed him. I called him back to make sure he took me off his contact list, and he hung up on me.

These people wanted me to return a phone call.  I did.  I asked what company they were calling from.  I gave them the ref id#, then the rude b*&(^ (Tina Wright) got a little nasty attitude.  All because she wants her little incentive on her paycheck so she can get her weave sewn in and get her nails did. I don't even know what these people were calling for, and didn't care because all of my bills are up to date and paid up.  So Tina, get a real job!
