While other posts on this site have been extremely helpful, I feel most obliged to respond to yours.  I received a call from this "place" today.  How they found MY number leaves many questions.  First, I am NOT in hiding.  Second, they were NOT looking for me but a "potential relative" of another person.  While I know of the "potential relative," we are NOT related.  This potential relative is the son of an ex's ex.  There is absolutely no relation.  Additionally, the caller stated the call was quite urgent in nature, which made me really think before speaking.  You see, if these people were legit, they would know how to find the person without having to use such round-a-bout methods.  

As for your debt, well, seems kind of strange that someone who wanted to pay a bill and was not in hiding took years to take care of it.

I am beginning to believe this "law" office is a scam because the phone number is not listed in the phone directories, attorneys usually list their phone numbers, and an internet search of the law office name does not provide a link to the office--just "scam" sites warning of scams.  Therefore, be careful what you say to callers from 609.570.3039.

These so called attorneys have repeatedly called my place of work and screamed and threatend and harrased me enough. I have reported them to the attorney general and they are sending a complaint form for me to send back.I suggest everybody do the same. Maybe we can put these rude people out of business.The person leaving their name as represenitive for the company is Brian McKnight.

Annoying, arrogant phone call from some idiot woman.

recieved call from Steve Peterson stating he was from a law firm and I owed over$1000.00 and I need to pay it or I was getting sued and going to jail. I do not remember the debt,however I do know at one time in 1990 or 1992 I did have a credit card.I do not remember it ever being for that amount. I have been told a bill that old that it is removed. Is that true? I live in Texas. Can I be sued or go to jail and is this man Laurence A. Hecker a real attorney? Any help would be great. Thanks.

The First call ever from these people, and from the moment my husband said hello I knew something was wrong. We asked for a letter to be sent to us concerning any debt they think we might owe(standard practice since the phone can be a very dangerous place to give out personal info), They never said "no", but they made it pretty obvious that they weren't goin to mail us anything. In fact they didn't even have our whole address. Oh, and they debt they were collecting, was paid over 2 years ago. I hope noone gets pulled into this junk. (I love caller ID)
