I just received the exact same message as Nancy.  It made me worry at first, but now reading all your posts I'm glad I didn't answer or call back.  Thank you!

I love you all.  I got the same message!  He had a thick accent and said his name was Matthew John and that I should call back on Friday because they were closed on Thursday.  I don't know what made me look up this number (gut feeling) but that you all for taking the time to post this fraud activity.  Happy Thanksgiving

JUST RETRIEVED A MESSAGE FROM MY VOICEMAIL: Someone posing as IRS.  Part of the message from my voice-to-text message: “Want any further information about your case file. Give us a call back as quick as possible on over direct hotline number to the IRS headquarters that is 57121058552. I again repeat the number is 571-210-5552. If you don't receive a call from your side and he prepared to face the legal consequences as the issue at hand is extremely serious and time sensitive. Have a blessed day.” DEFINITELY A SCAM.  I AM THINKING ABOUTCALLING THEM BACKAND STATING THAT I AM THE IRS - OR- THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION! GREDDY THEIVES!!! I HATE THAT THEY MAY ACTUALLY SCAM AN ELDERLY PERSON.

Received the same message today.  From the IRS website, they address this issue at
http://www.irs.gov/uac/Newsroom/IRS-Repeats-Warning-about-Phone-Scams

If you get a phone call from someone claiming to be from the IRS, here’s what you should do:
If you know you owe taxes or you think you might owe taxes, call the IRS at 1.800.829.1040. The IRS employees at that line can help you with a payment issue, if there really is such an issue.
If you know you don’t owe taxes or have no reason to think that you owe any taxes (for example, you’ve never received a bill or the caller made some bogus threats as described above), then call and report the incident to TIGTA at 1.800.366.4484.
You can file a complaint using the FTC Complaint Assistant; choose “Other” and then “Imposter Scams.” If the complaint involves someone impersonating the IRS, include the words “IRS Telephone Scam” in the notes.
