About 1:55 PM PST on 11/21/14, I got a call that had the same script as reported by Gail and Nancy above. I didn't answer it and got the message recorded on our answering machine. Same phone number.  I got the following information from an IRS website (http://www.irs.gov/uac/Newsroom/IRS-Reiterate ... -Telephone-Scam):

If you get a phone call from someone claiming to be from the IRS, here’s what you should do:

If you know you don’t owe taxes or have no reason to think that you owe any taxes (for example, you’ve never received a bill or the caller made some bogus threats as described above), then call and report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 1.800.366.4484.

Perhaps we should all call the Inspector General.

I reported their call back on 11/20, see above.  I looked back today see they continue with the calls.

I just filed a report with Federal Trade Commission: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/

Also, reported them to IRS at phishing@irs.gov

IRS has an article warning about these types of calls: http://www.irs.gov/uac/Phishing-and-Other-Schemes-Using-the-IRS-Name

Where in part this article said:  "The IRS-impersonation telephone scheme, in which callers may demand money or say the taxpayer has a refund due and try to trick them into sharing private information, is continuing. These callers may know a lot about the taxpayer they call and usually alter the caller ID to make it look like the IRS is calling. They use fake names and bogus IRS identification badge numbers. If the taxpayer hasn’t answered, they often leave an “urgent” callback request. However, there are ways to spot when a supposed IRS caller is a fake. [Added September 2014]"

Please report any suspicious calls to the Federal Trade Commission so that we can stop these scammers from harming unsuspected people.

I received the same message and called the 571-210-5552.  The connection was bad so the man called me back from 536-078-4667.  When I pressed him for his full name and supervisors name, he hung up.
