I received 3 calls from this number, 2 went on the answering machine, the 3rd I picked up. First of all, the message is not from a live person, but a robo recording. Second, my name was never mentioned. Yes, it was a thick Indian accent that mispronounced words like "represen-tay- tive" for representative, referred to himself as Officer Melvin. On a radio talk show last night a caller said he believed the message, called back and was instructed to mail a debit card in some astronomical amount (didn't say where). The caller also said he was an engineer, maybe smart, but a total moron to believe this could be real. So it makes me wonder that this must be a very lucrative scam with a lot of "smart" people falling for it. Depressing.
