It's SUNY, not CUNY. And this phone number is legit for SUNG Oswego. Got a call, text, and email all around the same time. Black bear sighting at the main entrance of the school.

Yes, this looks like a central number for SUNY alerts. I got a text then a call from this number during a test of the emergency notification system for my son's college. I believe, but not totally sure, that to get off the call list you'll need to do it through the college that you signed up from.

I received a call at 5:30 am .I work days and so my sleep was interrupted. This was unnecessary and very inconsiderate.

This is not a scam. It is the number for the emergency alert system for nys colleges The calls come very early in the AM to prevent faculty, staff and students from traveling unnecessarily.
