Someone with a thick asian accent, named Rose Martin left me a message stating that I or my retained attorney needed to call him back immediately or my life would be a big mess. He left me a message on my cell and at my office. I called them back, just to see what this was about and he said there were several federal legal charges filed against me. He stated it was for an unpaid loan from two months ago, then later stated it was from June 2008. He claimed to be a civil attorney. After questioning which one it was, he got nervous and hung up on me. I called back and told him that I know this was a scam and not to call me again. He proceeded to rattle off a bunch of my personal information trying to intimidate me, and I informed him that anyone could obtain that info and it proved nothing. I seemed to get under his skin and he began to taunt me and no longer wanted to talk about these so called pending charges against me. He asked if I still worked at "x-company" which I said no and he said that they faxed the legal documents to that employer and I needed to get those papers and to show up to court on Monday at 11am. I informed him that anything that was truly a legal matter would not be handled in this fashion and clearly this was some sort of scam.
I notified my local FBI office and they stated they were aware of this scam, but it was an international scam and there was not much they could do. They suggested filing a case with the FCC at WWW.FCC.GOV, which I did.
I called the number back after speaking with the FBI and FCC to inform the scam artists that I had reported them. The responded with a bunch of jibberish, followed by "may god save your life." I'm not sure what exactly that means??
