More likely a scam.  Let's see, you got a call and everything was just fine.  Then, you decided to go onto an anti-scamming site and tell anyone who'll listen that everything is just great.  Totally legitimate.  Most people show up on this site if they've been scammed or have been the victim of an attempted scam.  But in your case, everything was just fine.  So why are you posting here.  You sound like a shill.

This was a ridiculous scandel of a phone call. The machine said to call back this number because the IRS was suing me because I owe money to the VA. That doesn't even make sense!?! I don't owe anyone money so this was so crazy and hilarious at the same time. Don't fall for this, block this number. Always call the IRS and the VA number you have on you VA paperwork, let them know, always verify. I knew this was bogus.

A veteran received a call from this number. They had his info and asked him for info. I looked this number up and all I saw was scam alerts. Also I tried to call it and all you get is a recording to call an actual VA number. I believe this to be a scam. I have reported to VA regional, VA Health care, and the Attorney General that there are people out there getting Veteran's information some how. Apparently there is an obvious breech somewhere the reason these people are getting access to Veteran's info.

Affirmed that this number is the VA. My father is a vet who applied for Aid and Attendance. This is a grant that the VA may provide qualified vets to assist with in-home care. They were calling to let me know the final decision on his application. I spoke with them for over 12 minutes, while they explained all of the benefits, what to expect in the mail, what needs to be returned to them, etc. This is a legit number. but that does not mean that some criminal out there might not be concealing his/her real phone number, by spoofing this one..
