These people called my granddaughter, telling them that I was in legal trouble. I called them and talked to a "Mr. Gilchrist".  He said that I had 1 hour to resolve this or the lawyer would file papers.  I told him that I would call him back.  I did, but with MY lawyer on the line.  She began to ask him questions and he became irritated.  She asked him to fax the debt information on their letterhead so that we could verify the debt.  He said "our fax is not working".  She asked for his first name and he said "my first name is of no consequence". He said that he would tell the "lawyer" that I refused to pay and my lawyer asked to speak to him.  Then he hung up.  These people are trying to scam people out of money!  Do not pay them!  I googled them and got this page.

I have an attorney myself.  He said its a scam. I owe nothing. I check my credit on a regular basis.  All accounts current. Got a call saying I owed. Not going to call back.

We were confused as we just start to get the phone calls from this number: 404-847-9210, in the last couple of days. Thank you all for the info. Now, we know that we just have to stay away from this people!.

The first time Mr. Rogers called from 404-847-9210, I told him I didn't know the person they were looking for and asked them to remove me from their call list.  The second time he called, he asked for the same person, I told him again that I didn't know who they were looking for, and he went into a long speech about how a decision had to be made in the next 2 hours about a very serious matter and it was urgent that they speak to the person. He continued with his speech and would not allow me to interrupt so I hung up.  And today, Mr. Rogers called from a new number in Michigan, 231-568-4697, knowing I would probably not answer the Atlanta number. He started the same dialogue and I told him to stop harassing me or I would report him to the FTC.  He asked me to give him my name (which he already knew) and told me that if I had just told him this in the first place, he would not have called me back.  Right.

Called our number thinking it was someone else.  Called back when we would not answer his questions.  Blocked with Verizon.  Will pursue further is necessary.  These people are scum

Do NOT pay these people anything! This is a complete scam!
Just ask them to send you something in writing. They won't do it because they know
they can't. Immediately contact the Attorney General's office.
They are NOT a Law Firm. They are scam debt collectors!
