Got a call from this number, 316-300-0000, at 4:44 PM today - and it popped up on my cell phone from Kansas. Area Code 316 is Wichita. Further, my caller ID said it was a person named Ron Gier, who google associated with that majorly sucky SPRINT corporation.

Yes, the same sucky company that lays off thousands of employees at a time, some times right before the holidays, and sold off thousands of network employees to their bedmate, Ericsson. And yes, the same company who bought Nextel for a bizillion dollars and then lost their pants with the sour deal for no other reason than to pay bonus and stock to former Nextel managers and excutives who have now screwed the once powerful and admired Sprint Corporation into the ground. Yes, a wonderful example of American Greed and how to destroy what once was an excellent example of American Business. Sprint used to command a huge amount of respect in the marketplace - remember Candice Bergen and the PIN DROP commercials? But now, it's all been squandered by executives who actually get paid to destroy what was once great.  Shame on the FCC for allowing any of this to happen, but, most of all - shame on those individuals at Sprint and their board of directors that knowlingly went down this road. It's a pity, too, since Sprint was founded by good people who actually cared about families and communities. Now, it's all about money. Money. Money. And, they don't care how they get it - they just want it - more and more of it. Not for their employees - but for their executives. What a perfect example of GREED. Shame. Shame. Shame.

Often get calls from this number on my cell phone, often at the worst time. I never answer because I know it's a scam. I have reported it to Do Not Call. Hope these crooks are put in prison.

The best thing to do on your cell phone is not to answer it.  Once they get an answer they just keep changing the number they are calling from.  Simply if they are not in your contact list ignore them.  If it is real legit call from outside your area code, the party calling can leave a message if it is that important.    Do not hit 1 to talk to anyone.  As soon as they hang up go the your recent calling list and delete that number, just like you delete a spam email.  By doing this you will not by accident redial the last number that called you and get caught in their web that someone actual uses the number their rebotics system called.

On a landline I strongly recommend the same thing and if you want spend a few extra bucks a month get call rejection added to your line.  I've had call rejection for 3 months now and each time they use a different number I added them.  After about 8 different numbers were added to the rejected list these calls stopped.  Nice to come home every day and not have the caller ID loaded up with the same 'unknown' callers.

I accidentally answered a call from this number.  The sun was shining on my screen and I couldn't see the caller id info, and I was expecting another call.  I was just in the mood, so I thought I would have some fun.  I pressed "1" and told the guy who answered that I was sooo happy to have received a call from them.  I explained that I was [***]-deep in debt and had several credit cards that were maxed out.  And, that it would be great if they could maybe consolidate them at a lower rate, so I could get another credit card because I had things to buy.  I went on an on for several minutes.  He asked how much credit card debt I had.  I told him about $90K.  (Gasp!)  Then I started laughing, told him I had zero credit card debt because I had zero credit cards.  He started yelling obscenities.  I laughed harder.  The more I laughed, the madder he got.  And I hung up on him!  I know what I did will do nothing to stop these idiots.  But at least I kept this guy busy for about 10 minutes so he couldn't harass other people.
