Caller ID said Florida. I answered on the second ring, got a recording telling my that my credit cards needed attention and that the rates could be lowered if I would press 9. The wording was careful to sound like they were talking abut existing accounts. Pressed 9 with the intention of asking to be removed from their list....got a man who spoke very softly I asked him to speak up and asked which card he represented. He stated that they represent 1000's of cards.....I said no thanks and asked him to remove me from the list twice but he kept talking. I spoke very loudly over top of him and he said " I won't remove you from the list if you won't listen." I told him again to remove me. He said "[***] you"....I hung up on him.
This is threatening and obscene. I want them to be stopped. Ruined my morning.

305-000-7989 appears to have joined the spoofing-scam ranks of 407-000-1515 and 407-000-9876.  Please note the -000- prefix.  The other two numbers have been reported to the federal and state governments, to no apparent avail.  Also, unfortunately, there appears to be no way to block calls from this prefix.

A call came in around noon today with this number on my caller i.d. with Florida as the name. These companies are calling people and telling them they need to get their credit card interest rate lowered and to press "9" to speak to a representative. There has to be a law about these ruthless operators. I got another call around 2 p.m., caller i.d. was "unidentified" this time. I pressed 9 and the operator asked, "Did you press the 9?" I suppose they think they are getting around the law with this method.

I received a call from 305-ooo-7989. When I say the number in my called ID i didn't answer . Iwas sure ti was seom kind of a scam. I find it impossible to understand why the phone company isn't able to block these nubmers. After all we're paying 10 dollars a month for the ID factor and this is definately illegal. They are up to no good

Called 5-29-09 at 1:49pm, left no message.  I've received other calls from 305-000 numbers recently.  I didn't know about this site until now.  I'll post more if/when I get them.

I am getting these weekly. I got an operator last week, and asking if she was calling about one of my cards, then which one. . she answered Bank of America. I of course do not have a B of A card, so she was probably just taking a guess, can't believe they are calling for B of A. Today when I pressed 9, I also got humg up on when I stated I had demended not to be called. I am calling my state,s attorney general.
