Caller ID said Florida. I answered on the second ring, got a recording telling my that my credit cards needed attention and that the rates could be lowered if I would press 9. The wording was careful to sound like they were talking abut existing accounts. Pressed 9 with the intention of asking to be removed from their list....got a man who spoke very softly I asked him to speak up and asked which card he represented. He stated that they represent 1000's of cards.....I said no thanks and asked him to remove me from the list twice but he kept talking. I spoke very loudly over top of him and he said " I won't remove you from the list if you won't listen." I told him again to remove me. He said "[***] you"....I hung up on him.
This is threatening and obscene. I want them to be stopped. Ruined my morning.

They call asking to lower your rates on your Visa Card.  I think they are phishing for your card number

It's a robo call. That number shows up when I do a callback *69. Cincinnati Bell says that it is not a valid number. I tried to do a reverse lookup and found nothing. The automated mesage goes something like this: This is Rachael at cardholder services and your credit is in danger. Press 1 to speak to a representative. Press 2 to be removed from the call list.
I pressed 2 and they never remove my number from their call list. I pressed 1 yesterday and spoke to a person. They refused to give me their company's name or telephone number. They hung up on me. That should tell you about the legitimacy of this company.
People all across the country are receiving these annoying calls. If you are on a "Do Not Call" list, file a complaint. Also call your states' Attorney General Consumer Affairs Department and file a complaint.
Many people are also receiving robo calls from an auto warranty company that will not give their name or number. I hear that it's a scam. The Federal Trade Commission is investigating "Voice Touch" and "Trans Continental Warranty".
These scammers have been making the national news. Chuck Schumer (New York politician) is aware of people being annoyed with these calls.  File a complaint!
