Mary.......I also got this same call from (215) 664 - 3208 on July 7, 2016!    I am elderly & disabled & it frightened me so much when I found it on my answering machine.   I thought I would wait over the weekend then call the number back.  Glad I decided to check it out here first as I couldn't understand WHY I would be having a Law Suit filed against me when I pay all my bills & have NOT done anything wrong!!!!!   People who are doing this SCAM/FRAUD stuff need to be in JAIL for harassing innocent people!!!!!

Please stop these scammers from calling innocent elderly sick people that they are threatening to sue!  I have not done anything wrong and these SCAM phone calls are happening a few times a month now & becoming upsetting to my mother!

It is going to take a village to get this and other extortion scams shut down. You can do your part by reporting them to the appropriate entity and investing in a call blocker for your mother:

There are numerous telephone and email scams in which individuals claim to be employees of the Treasury Department. These scammers often state that they are from the “Department of Legal Affairs,” offer grant money in exchange for you wiring a small payment, or threaten to arrest you within a short period of time unless payment is made. Do not provide personal information or payment to these individuals.  Their actions are crimes under Titles 18 and 31 of the United States Code, and the Treasury Office of Inspector General is working to stop them.

If they claim to be from Treasury, report  it to OIGCounsel@oig.treas.gov with a description.  If it was a phone contact, include:
the exact date and time that you received the call(s)
the phone number of the caller
the geographic location and time zone where you received the call
a description of the communication.

If they claim to be from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) or it is about taxes, report it to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at:
