This number is from EQUIFAX, they just called to verify my Student Loan deferment for a mortgage application through Bank of America.

This was a legitimate call. I recently went through a refinance on my 1st mortgage with CitiMortgage and then shortly after applied for a home equity with Navy Federal. Navy Federal needed to get a credit supplement on my original first mortgage because my county still showed a lien against my deed so the title processor wasn't able to get a clear title. NFCU needed to validate that the loan was in fact paid off in order for the title to clear so my home equity application could be cleared to go to the underwriters.

Received a phone message from this number. The oriental sounding lady was impossible to understand (terrible voice, terrible English, bad connection and spoke a hundred miles an hour) but I think I could make out Equifax and she asked that an associate of mine return this call (she left no number) to verify something or other. If this IS a company such as Equifax, this speaks very badly for their level of customer relations.
