This number is from EQUIFAX, they just called to verify my Student Loan deferment for a mortgage application through Bank of America.

The callers from this number ARE NOT from Equifax or any other legitimate company.  Remember people, never EVER give a SS# or account numbers to anyone that calls you.  EVER.  If some loser calls and asks to verify information tell them to keep better records.  Ask them the information.  It's a numbers game to them.  Perhaps 5 percent of Americans have a mortgage through B of America so if they make enough calls, they are bound to find someone gullible enough.  Sadly, by looking at a few other whocallsme sites, it looks as if some people have already fallen victim.

Yes, they are from Equifax and they work directly with the loan officers.  I called my loan officer to verify veracity of such person and they are legit!.

indeed, its an Equifax phone number, remember. a lot of companies have numbers for each employee, so you can rely on just ONE phone calling for legitimate purposes.
