Scammer.  I posted furniture for sale on CL and subsequently received an email purported to be from a "Michael L Grushkowsky" and his fishy smelling message said "Do you still have the furniture? Please text only (213) 375-8286 I rarely check email."  The furniture is heavy (local pickup only) and this area code is nowhere near me. After I sent the message to my spam folder, I checked here to find other people's experience (and report my own).

Wow what you can learn about googling your name. I do live in Texas but have never owned that phone number or ever tried to scam anyone. Sorry to hear that my name for some reason is responcible for annoying some of you but I assure you its not me.

He said he worked for a salon and wanted me to mail out checks

Robo call stating this is a final notice from the IRS and threatening legal action if accounts are not paid up.  It's a scam.  Hang up.

This phone number called me 3 times today, I did not pick up.
