I work at a well know large corporation as a contracted receptionist. "Justin Blackwell" (although sounded like Blackhole) called seeking an employee. We have a very strict policy here and not only was I unable to transfer him i could not deny or verify that he was a current or past employee. Justin grew very angry and started arguing with me.
He stated I was breaking federal law by withholding information against the government and a state attorney would be notified about my lack of corporation. He began yelling into the phone, "TRANSFER ME TO SOMEONE MORE EXPERIENCED THAN YOU!" I have a high work ethic and regardless of someone's angry I will not hang up on them.
I tried to politely let him go but he continued on. He then asked to speak with either the administration office or my supervisor. I put him on hold to catch my supervisor up but once I explained the situation my supervisor laughed, then said "hang up". When I clicked back over he was already hanging up on me.
Here's the issue I have with just "hanging up" on someone before I can verify if they're a scam or that my supervisor is okay with that: the company I work.through is very strict about customer service and work ethic. If I were to be recorded and sent to my company any unprofessionalism I would have been fired.
I'm glad this site exist so in the event this number ever calls back i will answer then ether have fun with him or hang up. You would think these offshore people would get a life so to speak.
