This auto message stated they are from "the IRS Criminal Investigation Team" and urged me to call them to "avoid police arrest".

Same thing happened here. Left a voice mail saying they were the IRS and I would be arrested by local authorities in 24 hours if I did not respond.

IRS scam.... cheated my friend. They showed up at friend house dressed up as police officers... gave him 45 minutes to pay or go to jail. Fraud charges have been filed.
