Thanks for the post. It is to the letter of what happened to my elderly parents. They gave no credit card or banking info but completely lost everything on their computer, drivers and all. It was taken over by remote desktop and they lost everything. I live out of town and told them to immediately go to my sister's house next door and log in to all their accounts and change their passwords. They called their bank to place an alert as well as ebay and paypal.  Just hope they acted soon enough.  Scary!

Got calls March 26, March 28, and March 29. Did not answer. No message left. Does anyone know who it is from? I do not call back such numbers when I have no idea who it is.

Few months ago I got a call from a person who told me that they were calling me because of check up.they are authorized of that.I asked them i get many calls from you but I am not interested.they hung up the phone saying,"good bye".Then on the next day the same thing occurred.On the third day I asked them who were they and why are they calling me everyday(such bothering,sometime 3-4 times a day) to fix my PC?From someone I heard this is a scam.But after few days my PC had a problem.It was running very slowly and whenever surfing the internet I saw errors frequently.I asked my internet service provider in these regards.they checked two times but did not find anything wrong in the connection.In the meantime I got a call of such service and I had taken the service. it was of $266 for five years. They show me which things were running on my computer.They checked these scanned and cleared from my PC. Now they call me once a week and provide their service.now I am very happy with my computer. I think among you who are suspicious about their working should have take a chance like me. I think these people whom we say scam-er/scam artist is not.This is a concept.These are the services which has been developed for online/offline help for the people and by the people.
Till today I have no issue with my PC nor my personal data.Everything is secured.I think some of us like to buzz of scam of anything which they have not understood.

someone with presumably and Indian accent keeps calling and saying that my computer is infected and they want me to go to my computer so they can walk me thru the process to fix it. I refused and asked who I could speak to to verify who he was and he gave me another NJ number with a 732 area-code when I called it, it was his voice answering stating techinal dept?
