They called at 9:56 pm - on my cell! So I'm afraid turning to cellphones doesn't solve the problem...

Name on Caller ID was Nicol Jason; did not leave a message. I just don't answer if I don't know who it is. Yes, the ringing phone can be annoying, but they're the idiots who aren't getting anything for their time & effort. No point in getting ticked off--just don't answer.

Just received call from Nicol Jason re. alleged computer virus (definite Indian accent) ... not certain who hung up fastest - she or I !

Called here tonight at 9:30. Said they were from the Windows service center. Told me they had been getting a lot of error reports from my computer. I asked which one. They couldn't say. I think said it sounds odd that a Windows service center would call since my computers are all Mac. She hung up on me.

They phoned at 9:30pm..Nobody on the other end except for an automated "GOODBYE" when I was about to hang up....

Same: I answered, got no response until I heard a "beep" and then an automated female voice saying "goodbye."
