The caller says they are from Windows and that my computer has been hacked.  They wanted me to press the window symbol and R key.  Then asked me to enter some letters.  They stated they would show me where my computer had been hacked.

Caller said they would show me exactly where the hacker had bits in my computer.  Didn't sound very official but was fairly convincing.  People should be on the lookout and not enter any run programs on their computers to possibly give the hacker caller any access to their computer.

You may have been subjected to something like scam  #3, as described at
http://phonehelp.2truth.com/facts.html

That site also shows how other 800notes visitors have reduced the number of telephone scams and telemarketing calls they receive.  (Links to Amazon's phone blocker devices and apps, as well as government reporting sites are also provided).

Same phone number...985-657-7574.
Said they were from Windows and were alerting me to some hacker/scam breaches.
Said to go to my computer and enter the info they give me.  I won't do it and told him so.  He got VERY argumentative..

Just received call like ones descibed above. Sounded credible at first but got a little wary and looked up his number, fortunately came across this post. Thanks for the heads up.
