The number I received a call from actually had one less zero at the end (i.e., the nine-digit number 979-600-000).  Perhaps this is an attempt to avoid being blocked via the phone company.  The caller ID read "EAGLE LAKE TX".  No message was left on my answering machine.  I notice that calls with the same ID have been reported in this forum from at least one other number in the 979 area code.

calling at 8:10 in the morning, 8:30 in the morning and 9.  This is unacceptable!

They have called me 3 times this morning. Lots of background noise and the person barely speaks English. Said he was calling about my Windows computer. I received the same calls several months ago but from a different number.
