claimed to be a donation seeker for first responders.  Told them I'll vote for more funding, since that's how gov. works.

They Called but left no message so I blocked them

Scammer

Call came in on my mobile at 1025 A  CDT and they left no voicemail. 979-227 number group is from Bellville, TX in the Austin area. Texas has been plagued in recent years with a number of telemarketers soliciting donations for a variety of police, fire and other similar law enforcement, veteran's groups or public service very poorly rated charities. We NEVER donate to these "Cold Call" telemarketers since very little of the money actually goes to the charity. Since they didn't leave a voicemail, it highly suspicious and the number is now blocked.

I answered my cell phone  ( 5:38 p.m. ) , I  mistakingly said hello? yes ?  Clank, they hung up .  I've been told in the past , "do not say yes on any call ".  With voice capture they use the yes word against you later.
