SCAM alert! I just got a call from 978-376-7327. They asked if I have parents, and that they have a male and a female that were in a car accident. They asked for the color of my parents car and my parents names to "verify". I asked them "where" and they said "dupage". I only gave them my parents first name, and I said I don't know my parent's car color. I googled the number - There's one other incident on facebook involving the same phone number. Apparently they are trying to pull information to try to get to your parents and fake a kidnapping to extort money. I'm not sure where they found my number

OMG thank god what [***].  I got this same call on my work cell.  He said his name is Nick Donivin or something like that and thank god i pick up the phone and his brother got into a car accident.  everythng else was the same except it was for my husband or kid  he asked.  At the end he told me his brother was a huge gang member and he had my Fiance held hostage.  After he made me start crying i was texting My fiance on my reg phone and of course it took him a 5mins.  These dumb [***] had me crying in a panic so then I got smart and said My man doesnt have my cell work number.  then hung up! the idiot called again and started to tell me the same story I'm like you just called me.. I said I was calling the police.  

This just happened to me 30 mins ago.  Same story exactly.  He said there was a car accident involving 3 different make and model cars, one happened to be the car my daughter drives.  Said that his brother was a gang member and that they didn't have insurance and didn't want to get the police involved.  He said that he wanted $1500 and threatened that if I didn't go to the nearest Walmart immediately they were gonna kill my daughter.

Just got the call on Thanks Giving morn, 11-28-2013 from this [***] Muslim sounding shxt stain!  Too bad I figured it out so fast, would have loved to screw with his [***]!

SCAM. Basically the same story.  The person calling threw out a lot details (car colors, city where the "gang members" were hiding out with the injured person) probably hoping to guess some detail that matched part of my life (I do have family in Eagan, where he said they were). At first he said it was a car accident, then that there was a shooting after the accident.  After a few moments of panic, I realized it must be a scam, so I started asking questions. He said something about not wanting to get the police involved and that if he realized someone was calling the "victim" or the police that there would be trouble.  I stopped him and asked for the victim's name and he said he didn't know.  I asked for the color and make of the car and he said it was blue.  When I said we don't have a blue car, he said they had the wrong number and hung up.
