Received a call mid morning and sent it to voicemail since I don't know the number.  They left no message.
Google shows the number belongs to a med clinic in Parsippany, NJ. I live in CA, so why would I use a med clinic 3000 miles away??? Idiots.

---> Ron selfishly sneered, "... the number belongs to a med clinic in Parsippany, NJ. I live in CA, so why would I use a med clinic 3000 miles away??? Idiots." <---

Ron is right.  The number does belong to an (apparently fully legitimate) med clinic in Parsippany, NJ, as anyone can determine by googling the number.  But they probably aren't calling him because HE uses the med clinic, or even to get him to pay a bill.

In fact, they may be calling someone else -- an insurance company, a testing laboratory, a medical supply company, etc., for purposes entirely unrelated to Ron's self-centered view of his world.  I know.  I've had companies like that which have tried to fax me repeatedly because someone entered a wrong number into a fax machine across the country and had it set to repeat dial multiple times when the fax didn't go through.  I found out, through a google search, who it was and gave them a call on their main number to ask them to stop calling me, and they did.

Bottom line -- not everyone who misdials your number is trying to scam you.  Especially not a medical clinic that has been in business about four years and has an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau.  (See: http://www.bbb.org/new-jersey/Business-Review ... any-nj-90043487 )  And in those four years, take note of how few and infrequent the complaints about their calls have been here.  If these people WERE scammers, there would probably be dozens of complaints by now.

If you get another call from them, call them back and tell them that they have the wrong number.  As it is, they probably heard the greeting on your voice mail and realized that you weren't the person they wanted to talk to, anyway, and hung up without leaving a message.  But sometimes, someone misprograms a fax machine or stores a wrong number in their phones and associates it with the name of a vendor or a customer.  In those cases, it may take calling them back to remind them to remove your number.  In a case like this, where the caller seems to be a well-respected company, I see little risk in doing so.

They also called me, left a message using MY REAL NAME.  I have not been to a doctor in years due to lack of insurance in this fine country.   Stop being a know it all.
