Received a call from 972-647-4739 (Caller ID stated Rainsoft). She said Mrs. Carter wanted to welcome us to the neighborhood and congratulations on your new home (we did indeed just move in). She also said that as a part of the welcome, we could have our choice between $500 in grocery coupons or a 4 day, 3 night stay (or something like that) at a 4 star hotel, and all that needs to be done is a water test at our home. She asked if we had water filters in our sink or fridge, which we do, and she wanted to see if we were going to be home over the weekend to do a water test. I said "sure" before I realized that it was going to be a waste of my time, so I just called them back, a guy answered the phone as RainSoft Systems, and I told him I wanted to cancel my appointment. He got my name and city and said ok (he sounded disappointed).
Let's just wait and see if they still show up. Not entirely sure if this is a scam yet. Maybe just a sales call.
