That's the first sign of a scam / ripoff / bad deal - when THEY come looking for YOUR money.   If it were REALLY a great and profitable deal - you'd never hear about it.   They'd be too busy sticking their friends and family into it that they wouldn't have time to make cold calls.    But when the thing is a DOG and wouldn't make a dollar under any circumstance - they come out of the wood work looking for people to invest in it.  

My favorite part about these deals is they always offer it as a "tax advantage" or a "tax deduction" - this lets you KNOW right up front you will be LOSING your money.  You don't get a deduction from the IRS unless your money goes bye-bye.
