I received a call from this number telling me they were getting error messages and that I had an infected computer that could crash at any time and then I'd have to buy a new computer.  I could barely understand the caller due to his accent.  So he transferred me to another technician  - - I was stalling to find out what their scam was.  The insisted they were legitimate and gave me this number to call them back . . . which I did not do!  Don't know what they want, but they won't get it from me.

THIS IS A SCAM,MY OPINION} THEY TELL YOU YOUR COMPUTER IS ABOUT TO CRASH , THEY WANT TO SELL YOU A NEW ONE, PLEASE , I DID NOT FALL FOR THEIR TRICK,HOPE YOU DO NOT EITHER,BEWARE OF PEOPLE CLAIMING THEY ARE WITH WINDOWS, GOD BLESS US ALL, THESE PEOPLE CAN NOT EVEN SPEAK THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE CORRECTLY

got a call. said they were contracted with Microsoft -- I asked for a number for verification; they advised I call 972-591-8270 which I did immediately on my second phone while I had them on the line: line did not answer, twice.  When I told them that, they said call again: got an answer from similar sounding accent.  Told them I would call back after gaining surety they were legitimate. They got very insistent and I hung up.  A definite scam.

a person with an accent claiming to be "Michael Johnson" and providing this as a callback number (972-591-8270) called a senior citizen I know, persuaded her to turn on her computer, and then took it over remotely, messed it up, and demanded money to fix it.  he kept calling back over and over from a blocked number.  the only solution was to turn off the router since he had messed up the computer so that it wouldn't turn off.

although I see online that this telephone number is attached to a company in Texas that claims to fix computers, on the phone he claimed to be from the "technical department for the windows."  beware.

Received a call from "Henry Hoffman" (with an accent so thick to make it necessary to put a second "technician" on the line to understand). Claims to be from a company named CPS Corporation, contracted by MS Windows to identify and correct virus issues with PC's that are sending so many error mesages to MS that they contact to help resolve. Want to gain remote access to your PC to run their own scan and show you the issues. When asked how they obtained contact information, they said from the internet service provider, Verizon. When asked why our virus protection does not identify these issues, was told because the issues are on the other side of the firewall. Then advised that if the Windows warranty is expired, they will correct the issues and provide a new  two year Windows warranty for only $229, or better yet three years for $299, four years for $349 or a real bargain, lifetime warranty for $449! The next question would have been for my credit card info, but I told him I have NO money. Meanwhile I had my husband call the number from his cell phone and the same "technician", who was still on my speaker phone, answered it before disconnecting from me.  How interesting to hear him thinking he was already on a call with another unsuspecting, potential, victim of a scam!
