This number called me but it came up as 1-212 on the caller ID.   He said he was calling on behalf of Microsoft.  I asked the name of the company and he said it was called "I-squared" in Dallas, Texas.  I asked how he got my phone number--he said it was provided by Microsoft which seems very unlikely.    After explaining that I didn't have a home computer, and that I worked for the government, he hung up.

Got the tax fraud warning today.  We didn't answer the call but it came in from Dallas TX, and left a robo-voice message.  Read about these scams in AARP magazine, and DUH, it has been widely publicized that if you really are in dutch with the IRS, there will be no doubt with whom you are dealing and it won't be some amateur sounding computerized voice message.
