Same number, same name, same scam.  I called the police, they believe this person probably hacked into a craigslist post I posted about my lost wallet.  They followed up telling me they were with their sick mother in Hong Kong but had shipped my wallet.  The dhl tracking number they supplied was not real

I knew it was a scam.  :)  They sent me the same message thru cl - wallet was stolen

Just got the exact same message: Name is Jia Meixiu I'm deaf, a wallet was found, if you can name what's inside and where you lost it and provide full name and address matching on ID including your email I will be more than happy to return it.

Clearly they had gotten my number off of Craigslist. What the hell is their angle?

Message I got:
Hello, my name is Jia Mexiu I'm deaf.  A wallet was found and if you can name whats inside and where you lost it and described the wallet to me.  also provide correct information with your full name and address  matching on ID including your email address and I will be happy to return it.

He goes on to say he had to leave for Canada on an emergency to take care of his mom, yada.... yada... yada.   He tells me he is DHL agent office now.

What the hell?  What kind of scam is this?  I should have known.

Just texted him back and told him the police would like to talk to him and that I gave them his name and number.

I just got the same message. But he said he had to go help his sick mother in Canada. I only gave him my name but not my address or email. I posted about my wallet on craigslist. I am really annoyed that a person would take advantage of stressed people looking for their lost possessions.
