These calls come mostly from India. They are mostly online prescription drug companies but, as it appears from these posts, they have expanded their marketing to other parasites as well..... . The area codes are spoofed to look like they're from thr US using readily available software.
This means that threatening them, reporting them to the attorney general, the FCC, the FTC, (or any other agency) will get you absolutely nowhere. The US government won't spend a microsecond trying to chase down telemarketers in some remote spot of India, Pakistan, Nigeria, etc.
Virtually all of these calls go to mobile phones. If you have a smartphone, get one of the many call blocker apps on the market. Lots are definitely available for Blackberry, iPhone, and Android.... Likely others as well. How most of the call blocker apps work is that known Spam callers are automatically either hung up or sent directly to voice mail. Any number can be added to your personal blacklist, and the number will be subsequently blocked. When I add a number to my blacklist, I usually come to this site and post it as well.
These scumbags are frustrating but, unfortunately, the above is really best you can do. Good luck!
