Just got a call from this number. I'm in Canada btw. Too bad I missed them I was hoping to get one of these scanners on the line. It's fun to mess with them. I blocked the number with the telemarketing guard my phone company offers just in case.

hard to understand, speaking quickly and indistinctly, with an east indian accent.  

said he was calling about my "windows computer".  

i asked him what he wanted from my "windows computer".  "oh, nothing at all." (then why did he call me?)

and then i asked him what version of windows i was running.  (a bit of a mistake, since i got ahead of his script.)  well, of course he doesn't know, but he insists that he wants to tell me something very important about my "windows computer", all the while repeating that he's from "technical support".  

pure and total scam - calling numbers at random and phishing for gullible computer users.

definitely a scammer.  no real telemarketer would ever use tactics like these. (starting with the faked callerid.)

Got the call from a fellow with a heavy Indian accent, reporting to be from Microsoft Home Support telling me about a problem I have with my Microsoft computer.  I interrupted to tell him that I don't have a computer (which of course I do) and he promptly hung up.  They have been calling for about 2 days, at abou 5:30 am and I would get the automated 'goodbye', then today.  

Careful people, they will get you to log onto their site to download a 'fix' which opens your computer to them and they will steal your identity and banking info - this phone number is all over the Internet.  No call lists don't help!

Just had a call from someone saying they were from the technical department at Microsoft, and that they had access to my computer and could tell that there was a problem.  The man asked me to remove my virus protection and then he would give me directions to turn the computer over to him.  I requested his name and he stated Mike Anderson.  I also got that he was from 24 hour Support .com He refused to give me his employee ID number and when I asked for his phone number, he refused and said that the call had to be ended because he felt that I was accusing him of fraud. My phone indicates that the call was from Beaverton, OR.
