I got a call from this number, which immediately hung up. Who and why?

Today has been the day of unknown calls. Got this one just now.

Me too. I have had a slew of calls from many different numbers over the past 3 days. I keep putting them on my block list and then I keep getting more from new numbers. Annoying!

I've had several calls from this number in the last two weeks. No message left. No one there if you answer. I don't know anyone in Texas so I was cautious about answering anyway, but I'm thinking this must be some sort of scam.  I've noticed much more of this activity in the last month or so.
