RE: Notice to Cease Contact Regarding Debt for (Person they are calling about that does not live at your phone number)

Washington Mutual Payment Processing Services
P.O. Box 660487
Dallas, TX 75266

I am notifying you in writing that your agency has contacted me regarding a debt for (person they are calling about).  I have told the individuals that (person they are calling about) does not live here nor is this his/her phone number.  They continue to call.

Therefore, I am requesting that you cease all communication to my phone number regarding this person’s debt. If you persist in believing that (person they are calling about) is somehow connected with my address and/or phone number, please provide proof of your claim.

You should direct all future correspondence in writing as outlined in the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and to cease all communication with me by telephone.

Lastly, I would like to receive confirmation in writing that you have received this letter and will no longer be contacting me about this other person’s dept, or I will be forced to seek further legal action.

I look forward to you acknowledgement that you have received this notice by February 27, 2008.

Sincerely,

24 AUG 07 WaMu cards. expected payment for a card by phone check.
1.) there is no way I would offer an over the phone check payment to someone I know. I damn sure will not give out my checking account information to any one I do not know.
I need to check if I even have a WaMu card, one of my cards might have changed names

This was from WaMu credit cards.  They called me several times today.  It is my fault, my payment is 4 days late...in the holiday rush and a stint with the flu, I missed my due date.  My Due date is the 23...today is the 27th, and they have called 4 times.  This is the first time I've been late on a payment since they became WaMu several years ago...(which is aggrivating because it was a stupid mistake on my part!)

Funny thing is...I made my payment online (payment in FULL, BTW) as soon as I got the 1st call at 10:20 am.  Last 3 calls they have tried to get me to make a minimum payment over the phone because my payment hasn't posted yet.  That is not how I do things in todays world of identity theft, phone scams and Phishing.  They should know better, and the gentleman acted offended when I told him I'd rather go online and do my payment.

ALSO, I don't make payments over the phone because most companies charge you money to make payments through a Customer Service Rep.  For many companies, it's free to do it yourself online, or by using their automated system yourself.  It costs $14 to make a payment through a CSR, while it's free to do online.  Why should I give WaMu $14..I'd rather put that money towards my balance!
