got a call from this number and was asking about the owner of the house

I got the same thing with the hang up, but there was a few seconds of music before the line went dead.  I had them call right back saying they were from some solutions company.  Couldn't understand them as the accent was so heavy.

said they were calling from Canada mortgage and asked to speak to owner of house.  I told them no we're not interested.  the guy laughed and said "but ma'am we're not selling anything" and i just hung up.

This person called and when I hung up he called back 3 different times cursing and swearing at me.  The number seems to come from North Carolina but there does not appear to be any way to trace or report.

caller id showed (unknown caller) and called me on my cell phone. (how did they get that???) Had all my information (address, home phone,---Shocking!!!) and said they are from government of canada reviewing mortgage situation. I was very skeptical, when i kinda understood they wanted an appointment to speak about mortgage etc the alarm went on my head and the conversation became very un-professional including swearing ('F** you for not answering the question"). After that the call has started to come every few days from different person and there is no way to stop them. Bell canada did not help in blocking the number as they dont have record of numbers (unknown caller). Just have to put up with this... be very careful what information you give out.
