Cardholder Services robocall. I jerked them around by giving them a fake credit card number, and managed to waste 12 or so minutes of their time. That's probably $1.50 even at minimum wage, and of course it ties up their representative so he can't cheat other people. When they got angry about it, I told them my number was on the Do Not Call list, and that they had been told not to call. I encourage others to treat them the same way.

You have to tell them you have a high interest rate (e.g. 13%) and a lot of debt to keep them interested. There are actually lists of computer-generated fake credit card numbers you can use.

If I ever find out who they are, I will of course sue them ($1500 a pop, and I think the Feds are looking for them too). Somebody thought it would be cute to call me with an offer of a "free" home alarm system. He kept making robocall after robocall, and he made one mistake. That's all it took. Now he is in very deep trouble.

Remember, it's $500 for the Do Not Call violation, $500 for the robocall, and $500 for the spoofed caller ID number. And that's for each time they do it. (Not legal advice, I am not a lawyer.)
